Jay is a Certified Financial Planner who’s been working with families and businesses since 2000. He is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and does so by helping people set and reach their goals and dreams through proper financial planning.
Jay always knew he wanted to own his own business. So he went to BCIT to learn about Marketing Management. There he needed two elective courses and chose accounting and financial planning. He was hooked! He researched the industry, interviewed various companies and upon graduating in April 2000, he started his own business, Wiffen Financial Services.
After a brief stint as the Director of Distribution in BC for Desjardins Financial Security, Jay joined Singer Olfert Financial Group in 2012 until 2018, when he and Chris Singer started Cedar Rock Financial.
Jay loves helping people and problem-solving. Financial planning combines those two passions. He likes being able to tackle complex situations and simplifying them so his clients can enjoy their retirement. Having owned and worked with a variety of businesses, he has a particularly keen understanding of the specific challenges business owners face and how they think.
But what really drives him is seeing people’s dreams of retirement become a reality, couples in retirement enjoy their time together while they’re healthy and taking care of all of their financial needs so that they can focus on the important thing: family, friends, life…
